For a lot of us, knowing how long it will take them to complete the “storyline” of a game can sway their decision to buy it. Only recently did The Order: 1886 send PlayStation 4 owners into a frenzy when it was revealed that the campaign lasted less than 6 hours— a big deal considering that Ready at Dawn’s title didn’t have any multiplayer.
Unlike its predecessor, Titanfall 2 offers both multiplayer modes and a single-player campaign that so far is receiving praise from many game reviewers. There have also been no complaints about the campaign length that on average can be completed between six to eight hours.
Respawn Entertainment’s Steve Fukuda promised around eight hours during a preview event in Los Angeles this past August. It’s a breath of fresh air seeing a developer be true to his word, especially with so many of today’s publishers falsely playing up their game’s features, including campaign length.
Eight hours roughly puts Titanfall 2’s single-player experience at the same length as other shooters. This includes the recent Battlefield 1 and Gears of War 4, which also boast story-driven campaigns along with popular multiplayer modes.
Titanfall 2 releases October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
