SteelSeries has launched its newest line of gaming headsets currently exclusive to Best Buy and they look absolutely fantastic.
Previously we reviewed the SteelSeries Stratus XL, one of the first gaming controllers designed for Virtual Reality. Many gamers would agree that SteelSeries has a great history of providing quality products so it’s always nice to hear that new SteelSeries headsets are available.
Now, it’s always great to have options, but with so many gaming headsets on the market it’s really hard to choose. But remember, the SteelSeries Siberia 350 holds the second place in PC Gamer’s list of best gaming headsets. So a new line of SteelSeries headsets is a big deal.
If you’re a fan of SteelSeries products, you’ll be glad to know that they’ve designed these new headsets with nothing but the gamers’ needs in mind.
To reinforce this notion, SteelSeries is touting the Arctis headset as having the best microphone in gaming. This is no small claim as other headset manufacturers have tried to say the same thing.
Still, SteelSeries is committed to providing the best headsets for gamers with a product that doesn’t include deceiving features, calling it some cool name, and then pricing it at some ridiculous cost just to cash in on the gaming headset market.
SteelSeries CEO Ehtisham Rabbani states that:
“That is how we approached the new audio line-up—with a fresh perspective as to who our customers really are and what they want. Brands have been distracting gamers for far too long with meaningless specification races and options that encourage spending more in order to get gaming-level quality. Arctis changes that.”
SteelSeries has designed the new Arctis series as a re-imagining of what they believe a gaming headset should be. And with the Arctis headsets, they want to prove it. The new line of gaming headsets comes in a few varieties. Gamers will have their choice of buying the Arctis 3, Arctis 5 or Arctis 7.
This is what you can expect from the Arctis series:
- Flagship audio drivers
- 15-hour battery life
- Full-wrap headband
- A ClearCast mic for the clearest mic
- Supports DTS Headphone: X 7.1 Digital Surround Sound
- An athletics-inspired soft AirWeave fabric
- 40ft (12m) wireless range
- Ski goggle suspension design for comfort
- A removable and adjustable headband
- Accessories to match your style
- Connects to PC, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, mobile devices and VR
- Zero latency
- An on-ear ChatMix dial
All three of the Arctis series headsets provide a wide range of price so all types of gamers can have options. The headsets also differ in features so be aware that everything we previously listed may not apply to all headsets.
