Those of us who took advantage of Club Nintendo before it was shut down know how special it was. Offering a range of digital content and unique physical rewards, it was easily one of the best video game loyalty programs out there. When it was announced that it would be replaced with a new program, fans were hoping for something just as good— if not better.
Despite some hype upon launch, Club Nintendo has instead proven to be quite the let-down. With no physical gifts to offer and laughable discounts as rewards, including points that come with expiration dates, it’s no surprise that a poll on Nintendo Life shows an overwhelming dislike for the program.
When asked their opinion on My Nintendo Rewards options, the majority has deemed them “rubbish”. The poll also shows that Nintendo fans simply want better rewards, even if they aren’t the great physical stuff available via Club Nintendo.
Only time will tell if Nintendo decides to make their loyalty program enticing again. Here’s hoping they provide a much-needed revamp to My Nintendo that actually excites them, especially with the release of the NX six months away.
