Eyes widened back in 2013 when Satoru Iwata revealed via a Nintendo Direct video that Koei Tecmo and Nintendo were making a Zelda game together. Hyrule Warriors, a crossover with the Dynasty Warriors series, went on to become one of the best-selling Wii U titles of all time. Its success convinced Nintendo to port the game as Hyrule Warriors Legends to the 3DS two years later.
Now we’re anxiously waiting for the arrival for the next Nintendo and Dynasty Warriors crossover— Fire Emblem Warriors. First announced in January 2017, the upcoming title will release for both the Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS toward the end of this year. It will feature the classic hack-and-slash gameplay that the Dynasty Warriors games are known for and will include characters from several Fire Emblem titles.
The latest trailer gives us a good look at iconic Fire Emblem heroes in action, including Chrom, Robin, Marth, Takumi, Leo, Hinoka, and Camilla. As with all the mainline Fire Emblem games, Fire Emblem Heroes will have a character-focused story involving two royal families at war.
