The NES Classic showed that gamers are willing to pay for a retro console that allows them to play the best titles from the past. Now, both Atari and Sega are doing the same with their own versions of retro consoles. AtGames, the technology company helping to produce these devices, has finally announced the prices and launch dates of each retro console:
The Sega Genesis Flashback arrives September 22nd and will have price tag of $79.99. It comes with 85 titles, including the best from the Sonic, Shining Force, and Mortal Kombat series. Unlike Nintendo’s retro consoles, this one boasts a cartridge port that lets you play most original Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges.
The Atari Flashback Portable Game Player launches September 1st for $59.99, will include 70 games, and can also be hooked up to your TV. The Atari Flashback 8 Gold will launch September 22nd for $79.99, will have a whopping 120 games to play, and have a save/pause/rewind features.
