Thanks to the latest issue of Jump, a popular Japanese magazine, we now know more information on perhaps one of the most anticipated Dragon Ball fighting games in years. Since its unveiling at E3 2017, Bandai Namco has continued building up hype by slowly allowing new details to trickle onto the web.
The latest surprises come in the form of four playable characters. Both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta from the new Dragon Ball Super anime series will playable. Android 16, the powerful android modeled after Gero’s deceased son and Android 18, the blonde-haired twin of Android 17, are also playable.
Jump explained that Android 16 will play a big role in one of the game’s “what-if” story modes that features a new story line where Android 16 is revived. Also revealed was that six players can team up to take part in 3vs3 online party matches.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is scheduled for a 2018 release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Sign ups for the September closed beta open on August 22nd.
