These days there’s no shortage of indie titles inspired by the best games from the NES and SNES era. While it’s clear where Blossom Tales gained its inspiration from, there’s enough in this vibrant adventure to make it feel both familiar and entirely refreshing at the same time.
Blossom Tales, which is now available on Steam, is a story within a story. The game is about a grandfather sharing a tale with his grandkids about a young girl who lives in the Kingdom of Blossom. Not long after she becomes a Knight of the Rose, Lily must embark on a quest to retrieve special ingredients needed to awaken her cursed king.
To celebrate the launch, Blossom Tales is available with a 15% discount. Buying the game also nets you the entire OST for free. Publisher FDG Entertainment (Monster Boy, Ocean Horn) has expressed interest in a Switch port should the Steam version do well.
If you want a taste of this open world adventure before diving in, the Steam store page also offers a free demo of the first part of the game.
