The N. Sane Trilogy that recently released for PlayStation 4 has reminded many of us why the Crash series has been remembered so fondly. Now, a new generation of gamers can check out the remastered collection and enjoy the first three games for themselves. Noticing the great reception of the N. sane Trilogy, it looks like Activision is interested in making a completely new Crash game happen.
In a talk with GI.biz, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg mentioned that while they’re still not sure if there’s enough mass appeal to create a brand-new Crash game, experimenting is happening:
“We know there’s a vocal fanbase that wanted that to come back. But you never know if that is emblematic of a larger audience or just this niche, nostalgia-based community,” he said. “So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”
It make sense considering the original Crash trilogy released 20 years ago, which means new gamers might not be as interested as those who where around in the early PlayStation days. Of course, there’s also the fact that The N. Sane Trilogy launched to the #1 spot in the UK upon launch. Here’s hoping Activision can find a fun, refreshing way to reinvent Crash in the same way other developers have done with their long-lasting IPs.
